Natural Bug Sprays
Herbal Preparations

The following are a selection of useful recipes for coping with insects using herbal methodology. Many people use marigolds to help get rid of insects and other pests in their garden, and citronella is renown for battling mosquitoes. Or, some have had great success with wearing lavender oil to deter mosquitoes while hiking in the woods. The following are a few lesser known tips for insect control:

  1. Paper towel with vinegar for ants.

  2. Bay leaves in cabinet to repel roaches.

  3. Battle ants and roaches with:

    • 1 crushed clove of garlic
    • 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
    • 1 quart of water

Steep for 1 hour and then add:

    • 1 tablespoon of liquid soap

Then take the mixture and spray it around the house.
